Roedde House Museum, Vancouver
Located in downtown Vancouver, the Roedde House Museum is a fully-restored Victorian home that dates back to 1893. Take a self-guided tour to see what day-to-day life was like for the Roedde family at the end of the 19th century. Unlike many heritage house museums, the rooms are not roped off.

Burnaby Village Museum, Burnaby
This 10-acre site in Burnaby’s Deer Lake Park features dozens of heritage buildings arranged to reconstruct a 1920s village. You can visit period-specific homes, a traditional schoolhouse, and lots of businesses like a blacksmith shop and a general store.

Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, Richmond
Built in 1894, this huge building was once the largest producer of canned salmon in British Columbia. Today, interactive exhibits and tours help you learn about the history of fishing and what life was like for fishers and cannery workers through the decades.

Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site, Richmond
This unique historic site includes a cluster of historic buildings along the banks of the Fraser River in Richmond’s Steveston neighbourhood. The restored buildings were built on stilts and date back to the 1880s. Go inside to learn the stories of Chinese, Japanese, Indigenous, and European workers. Costumed interpreters help the scene come to life.

Fort Langley National Historic Site, Langley
This huge historic site is a recreation of the original Hudson’s Bay Company fur trading post. It includes 10 buildings surrounded by wooden palisades. There are lots of interactive activities including gold panning, costumed storytellers, and live demonstrations.

Britannia Mine Museum, Britannia Beach
Learn about British Columbia’s mining past at the Britannia Mine Museum near Squamish. You can ride an underground train, try gold panning, and wander through historic buildings. Don’t miss BOOM!, a live-action show that features special effects.
