The Life Of Chuck is based on the story of the same name from King’s 2020 collection of four previously unpublished novellas, If It Bleeds.

The novella consists of three separate stories linked to tell the biography of Charles Krantz in reverse starting with his death from a brain tumour at age 39 and ending with his childhood in a supposedly haunted house.

The script has been in the works for several months and was adapted before the Writers Guild of America strike.

If It Bleeds was released in April 2020 and featured the short stories Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, The Life Of Chuck, If It Bleeds and Rat.

Netflix acquired the film rights to Mr. Harrigan’s Phone in 2020 and it premiered in October 2022 on the streaming service to mixed reviews.

The Life Of Chuck was optioned in 2020 by Darren Aronofsky’s production company Protozoa Pictures on the same day Netflix acquired Mr. Harrigan’s Phone. The project was later acquired by Intrepid Pictures.

Rat also was optioned by Ben Stiller who intends to direct, produce and star in it, while If It Bleeds could be acquired by HBO due to its use of the Gibney character in The Outsider.

King, 73, is known as ‘The King Of Horror’ and several of his books and short stories have been adapted into hit movies, including: Carrie, The Shining, Pet Sematary, Stand By Me, It, The Running Man, The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption.

Hamill made an appearance in the hilarious trailer for the new action game EA Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as he coached Cameron Monaghan on his Jedi skills.

Fans of the franchise hailed the clip ‘the best ever’ trailer, claiming that the footage ‘warmed their hearts beyond belief’ as the duo worked together.

With years of training under his belt the Jedi Master playfully helped newcomer Cameron, 29, who plays Cal Kestis in the game, harness The Force.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor follows on from 2019’s Fallen Order as it follows Cal on the lam from Darth Vader and the implacable Galactic Empire.
