Camilla was born into a wealthy family, the Shands, who were very supportive and loving. The Shands were wealthy, with houses in East Sussex and South Kensington. Camilla had two other younger siblings, Annabel and Mark. Her childhood was a regular one, with dogs and horses, and she was described as optimistic, happy-go-lucky, and untroubled.
