Register For These Winter Running Races And Keep Your New Year’s Resolution

Each year, many people make New Year’s resolutions around health goals. An easy way to ensure you stick to your resolution is to sign up for a running race. Check out these winter running races in Vancouver.

Steveston Icebreaker 8k

Hosted by the Kajaks Track and Field Club, this scenic 8-kilometre out-and-back course parallels the river through Richmond’s historic Steveston neighbourhood. The route is completely flat, making for a fast race. There is also a one-kilometre kids’ run.

Chilly Chase

Run along the False Creek Seawall and into Stanley Park in the Chilly Chase Race. Choose from 5km, 10km, 15km and half marathon (21.1 km) courses. The flat course lets you move fast, although you may want to slow down to enjoy the ocean views.

Hypothermic Half Marathon

Hypothermic Half Marathons are held each winter in cities across Canada. The Vancouver version takes place in Stanley Park and includes a free brunch aftewards. Participants also get a limited edition hydration belt.

First Half

This flat and fast half marathon circles around Stanley Park and starts and finishes in Yaletown, guaranteeing you some of the best scenery Vancouver has to offer.

Fort Langley Historic Half

Run alongside the Fraser River in historic Fort Langley. The route heads through neighbourhoods and farmlands to Derby Reach Regional Park, then back again. Choose from 5km, 10km, and half marathon distances.

RunGo Dash for Dogs

Raise money for BC and Alberta Guide Dogs while running through beautiful Stanley Park. Guide dogs and well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome on the course. Two-kilometre, five-kilometre, and ten-kilometre options are available. Don’t miss the pancake breakfast at the finish line.

Vancouver Hot Chocolate Run

This fun run in Stanley Park includes 5km and 10km courses and finishes with  hot chocolate in a commemorative mug at the end.
