This Holiday Season, Unlock Over 40 Percent More Stays With Split Stays

The months of September and October have typically been the best times to book holiday travel, as prices and availability generally remain reasonable ahead of the rush. Nonetheless, even the savviest of travelers may find that their desired holiday getaway is booking up fast.

If one’s heart is set on a popular holiday destination this season, whether by the slopes or on the beach, Split Stays can help travelers unlock over 40 percent more options for stays of two weeks or more by suggesting and seamlessly linking two consecutive stays over their desired travel dates.

How to Book a Split Stay

There’s no need for guests to sweat over the logistics of searching for two listings to span their travel dates this holiday. Airbnb does it for them, seamlessly within their search results. When planning a trip of a week or more, in addition to all the listings that meet their search criteria, Split Stays will appear at the end of search results and present them with the option to split their trip between two separate listings – hence unlocking a multitude of new options to make their trip possible. Better yet, proposed pairs also meet all the requirements set forth by the guest’s original search, from the number of bedrooms and bathrooms to desired amenities.

For added ease, guests can also view where both listings are located on the map, with a unique icon and an animated arc connecting the two stays. This not only helps to visualize the distance between the two listings, but also indicates which stay is their first of the two.

To book, all guests have to do is click on a Split Stay card, where they’ll be able to click into each of the two listings presented, all on the same screen. They can review the details of each listing as they normally would. To start the checkout process, guests simply click into either of the listings. Upon completing checkout for the first listing, they’ll be guided to complete it for the second listing.

Each listing in a Split Stay is a separate reservation and will show up as two sequential trips in the Trips tab. Each listing in a Split Stay also has a separate Host, and guests can communicate with each Host separately.
