Where To Find Vancouver Area Wading Pools For Families

Splashing around in the water is a great way for kids to cool off. The Vancouver area has tons of community wading pools where your littles can wade and play.

Collingwood Park, Vancouver

Located in East Vancouver, this wading pool is in a large park with a basketball court, sports fields, and a playground. Big trees near the pool provide welcome shade.

Where: 5275 McKinnon Street, Vancouver

Hours: Monday to Friday 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Bobolink Park, Vancouver

The wading pool in this sunny South Vancouver park is located next to a playground and grassy fields, making it a great destination for summer.

Where: 2510 Hoylake Avenue, Vancouver

Hours: Monday to Friday 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Douglas Park, Vancouver

The wading pool at Douglas Park is located in a shaded spot for good sun protection. There is an adjacent playground too.

Where: 801 West 22nd Avenue, Vancouver

Hours: Monday to Wednesday 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Thursday and Friday 11:30 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

West Point Grey Park, Vancouver

Also known as Trimble Park, this west side park has a great wading pool, shade trees, a playground, and tennis courts.

Where: 2250 Trimble Street, Vancouver

Hours: Monday to Friday 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

David Gray Park, Burnaby

Located in Burnaby’s South Slope neighbourhood, this leafy park has a great wading pool and playground. There’s a fenced dog park too.

Where: 7480 McKay Avenue

Hours: Monday to Friday 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

McGill Park, Burnaby

This North Burnaby Park boasts a wading pool, playground, a covered picnic shelter, and lots of grass.

Where: 4203 McGill Street, Burnaby

Hours: Monday and Wednesday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Dixon Neighbourhood Park, Richmond

Located in Richmond’s Seafair neighbourhood near Steveston, this park has a basic wading pool, a playground, and lots of shade.

Where: 9331 Diamond Road, Richmond

Grimston Park, New Westminster

This refurbished wading pool has a fun spiral design on the bottom and a nearby playground.

Where: 1900 7th Avenue, New Westminster

Hours: Daily 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Blue Mountain Park, Coquitlam

Blue Mountain Park has a cute circular wading pool with a fun under-the-sea design, a playground, and lots of shade trees.

Where: 975 King Albert Avenue, Coquitlam

Hours: Daily 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Sun Valley Park, Port Coquitlam

This community park in Port Coquitlam has a great wading pool, a spray park, and a playground. The pool is even heated!

Where: 3700 Hamilton Street, Port Coquitlam

Hours: Daily 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Routley Park, Port Coquitlam

The basic wading pool at Port Coquitlam’s Routley Park is heated, perfect for days that aren’t blisteringly hot. There is also a playground and plenty of shade trees.

Where: 1570 Western Drive, Port Coquitlam

Hours: Daily 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
