Moët Hennessy is delighted to announce the renaissance of Château Galoupet, the first Cru Classé de Provence in its prestigious portfolio. Château Galoupet’s vision is to create exemplary wine expressions of the unique Provence terroir in the most respectful way to the environment, from ground to glass.

Château Galoupet is  committed to preserving its unique ecosystem whilst nurturing the biodiversity of the estate’s 77 hectares of protected woodland and 69 hectares of vineyards, that are in organic conversion since 2020. With more protected woodland than vineyard, the estate is a vital local sanctuary for biodiversity.  Château Galoupet has worked with the Conservatoire des Espaces Naturels Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, which has identified rare indigenous plant species and over 90 different species of fauna. An action plan has been introduced to accelerate regeneration of these species and help biodiversity thrive in the years ahead.  What’s more, in a partnership with OFA (Observatoire Français d’Apidologie, the French bee research center), 200 beehives were installed at the estate, along with a queen bee fertilization station, one of just 12 in the world.

Château Galoupet is a progressive wine estate committed to respecting traditional know-how while employing sustainable viticulture practices, from ground to glass. To drive the introduction of sustainable practices at the estate and support the region in its transition to sustainable viticulture, the estate is dedicating 3.5 hectares of plots to research and development. Trials are under way to explore the potential of climate and drought resistant grape varietals in the region. Biodynamic practices are also being trialed to explore new promising wines for the future. Committed to sharing its discoveries and working in close collaboration with other stakeholders, Château Galoupet is avid to play a role as a lighthouse for sustainability for the industry, the region and the LVMH Group.

The essence of this vision is embodied by the unique products created by Château Galoupet. The estate is located in Crystalline Provence, one of the oldest geological formations in the region and home to its own microclimate, including three distinct micro-terroirs characteristic of the region and which shape the multiple expressions of Château Galoupet wines. As a Cru Classé, Château Galoupet owns 100% of its grapes, allowing for complete viticulture management and transparency of sustainable practices at each step in the winemaking process. Following three years of analyzing the soils, nurturing the vines and enabling nature to once again thrive at the estate, Château Galoupet is excited to share its first rosé wines in organic conversion: Château Galoupet Cru Classé Rosé 2021 and Galoupet Nomade 2021.

Château Galoupet Cru Classé 2021 Rosé is made entirely from the estate’s own grapes, a pure terroir wine with the rich and naturally aromatic palate characteristic of Provence.  On the nose, it is complex and intense, white and citrus fruits and bitter almonds are complemented with delicate floral aromas. It’s full bodied and layered with a long and mineral finish, perfect for pairing with food.  Galoupet Nomade 2021 is a light and refreshing AOP Côtes de Provence rosé with notes of fresh fruits, wild berries, pink grapefruit and pomegranate. On the palate, it’s crisp, fresh & aromatic, with a mineral finish, evoking the Mediterranean sea breeze which blows through our vineyards.

Sustainable practices are at the heart of Château Galoupet who are proud to present innovative new packaging designs for its wines. Château Galoupet Cru Classé Rosé 2021 is presented in a 70% recycled amber glass. The Galoupet Nomade is presented in a first of its kind 100% recycled and recyclable bottle crafted from Prevented Ocean Plastic that has been salvaged from the costs of the world’s most polluted areas. The unique shape of the flat bottle weighs just 63g, 10 times lighter than the average bottle.

Château Galoupet’s mission is to craft wines that express the rich essence of the soil and terroir, along with the estate’s exceptional flora and fauna. The unique vins de terroir of this remarkable estate launch in May 2022. “The balance of nature is our absolute priority,” says Managing Director Jessica Julmy. “Our mission is to consistently give back to nature more than we take, building an inspiring legacy for the future.”
