As major patron of the Cinémathèque française, CHANEL is partnering with the institution to present the first complete retrospective of Alain Resnais’ work from November 3rd to 29th. This great French filmmaker is eternally linked to the House of CHANEL through his masterpiece ‘Last Year in Marienbad’, a huge commercial success that was awarded a Golden Lion at the 1961 Venice Film Festival, and whose 2018 restoration was supported by CHANEL. In the film, the actress Delphine Seyrig is dressed in designs chosen from Gabrielle Chanel’s Haute Couture collections, embodying the designer’s elegant and sophisticated allure.
