This Sprawling 74-Acre Compound Is The Bay Area’s Most Expensive Listing

This 74-acre compound consists of seven home, a total of 32 bedrooms, 26 bathrooms, and 23,900 square feet of living space. You’d also get a stadium-size Roman pool, panoramic views of California’s Pacific Coast Range, and a neighborhood in one of the wealthiest and most vibrant enclaves in the heart of Silicon Valley. All this can be yours for a price tag of $135,000,000.

This grand estate is know as the Green Gables which was commissioned by banker, Mortimer Fleishhacker, back in 1911.

The estate has been held the same family for five generations. The main house was also designed by Charles Sumner Greene and Henry Mather Greene who were pioneers of the 20th-century Arts and Crafts movement. One home was also designed by William Wurster, a well known American architect best known for designing residential dwellings in California.

The vast grounds offer edible and flower gardens, lilypond, orchards, olive groves, a reservoir, and wooded trails that you can enjoy. This idyllic landscape serves as great retreat.

The estate is also filled with history. Back in 1965, it hosted the gala for the 20th anniversary of the United Nations.

With a hefty price tag, Realtor notes that “it will be interesting to see whether a buyer materializes for this massive opportunity.”
