Bebe Rexha revealed she suffered a pregnancy loss while addressing negative negative comments about her weight following her first Met Gala appearance.
āIām so tired of people commenting on my weight,ā Rexha, 35, wrote in a since-deleted tweet on Tuesday, May 6, via E! News.
The Grammy nominee explained, āI have PCOS and struggle with infertility,ā referring to her journey with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal condition that affects womenās ovaries and often leads to weight fluctuation.

The musician noted that although she didnāt owe anyone an explanation or the story behind her appearance, she hoped her story would make trolls āthink twiceā before commenting on āanyoneās body.ā
Rexhaās comments came one day after she made her Met Gala debut on Monday, May 5, in New York City. The āIn the Name of Loveā singer posted several photos of her Christian Siriano look on social media, which highlighted her curves and sexy figure.
While Rexhaās clap back ā and pregnancy loss news ā has since been deleted from X, she also replied to Azealia Banks directly on the platform after she made negative remarks about her shape.

āSis gives me ā hormonal birth control implant or something,ā Banks, 33, wrote via X on Monday, posting a photo of Rexha on the Met Gala red carpet and implying that the singer had gained weight as a result of a medication. āItās giving implanon/nuvaring she needs removed or depo shot that needs to stop happening (Iām not even tryna play her).ā
Rexha fired back, āAnd you might wanna jump on some type of therapy, sis, lexapro worked great for me. Something that helps with the deep rooted sadness and chaos you keep projecting. Healing looks good on everyone. Try it.ā
Despite engaging in a brief social media feud with Banks, Rexha seemed to bounce back and ignore the haters almost instantly.
āOK Iām gonna go and enjoy my day now ,ā Rexha tweeted on Tuesday, minutes after her exchange with Banks. āHave a good day everyone love you.ā

Rexha is no stranger to defending herself and her body against critics. In July 2023, Rexha shared screenshots of texts her then-boyfriend Keyan Safyari allegedly sent her in which he was critical of her weight.
āI always said I would be honest with you and your face was changing so I told you it was ⦠that was the conversation we were having, and you asked,ā the text read. āBecause I care, would you rather I lied to you?ā
Safyari then pointed out that Rexha had gained ā35 pounds,ā texting, āObviously you gained weight and your face changes? Should I pretend it didnāt happen and that itās OK? Come on I gain 3 pounds and you call me chubbs and fat. Doesnāt mean you donāt love me. If youāre trying to find reasons to break up this makes sense ⦠but itās not the real reason.ā

Safyari claimed that Rexha was trying to āweaponize your anger or anxiety or any insecurity you may haveā to find an excuse to break up.
āYou know I have always found you to be beautiful and loved you no matter what,ā he continued, encouraging Rexha to āwrite things downā and āspeak to a therapistā so that she could āget to the root of the problem.ā
Later that month, Rexha confirmed during one of her performances in London that she and Safyari called it quits after three years of dating. āNow, I just went through a breakup, so I might get a little emotional, so you need to help me here,ā she told the crowd as she introduced her song āAtmosphere,ā per E! News.
Earlier in 2023, Rexha shared that she was recently diagnosed with PCOS and it had impacted her body image. āI literally jumped, like, 30 pounds so quickly, maybe a little bit more,ā she said of her diagnosis during a May 2023 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. āBut we gotta just be positive and just show people love.ā
