Kim Kardashian Nearly Bares Her Bum in Leather Met Gala 2025 Look

On the first Monday of May, Kim Kardashian’s extravagant style came out to play.

Kardashian, 44, continued her Met Gala trend of creating buzz worthy looks by wearing a black leather Chrome Hearts dress and matching fedora to this year’s fashion event held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday, May 5.

This year, The Kardashians star wasn’t alone when she experienced the annual event. She seemingly got ready with her daughter North West and even took time to have some fun on social media.

“Met🖤,” West wrote via TikTok when documenting her own special look for the 2025 Met Gala. The 11-year-old showcased a hair transformation with blue braids as she wore cowboy boots, Nike knee-high socks and a matching jacket and shorts set.

This isn’t the first time Kardashian has included West in her Met Gala fun. In 2023, the Skims founder — who also shares Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, with ex-husband Kanye West — let her oldest daughter watch from the car as she walked the red carpet.

According to several outlets, Met Gala attendees must be 18 years or older as of 2018.

Kardashian’s latest look served as an equally stylish follow-up to her 2024 Met Gala ensemble. She paid homage to last year’s “Garden of Time” theme by sporting a silver Maison Margiela Couture strapless dress with a metallic, leafy lace design.

Opting for natural glam and letting her platinum locks down in simple waves, Kardashian elevated the look by fitting her waist into a small corset and draping a short, grey sweater over her shoulders.

Kardashian explained her unique accessory choice in a red carpet interview with Vogue, stating in an Instagram video that she was inspired by “the wildest night of my life in a garden and I just ran out and grabbed my boyfriend’s sweater and threw it on and had to get to work. And my hair is all messed up.”

In a behind-the-scenes Vogue video about the creation of her outfit, The Kardashians star poked fun at her outfit’s restricting nature when asked how her breathing was. “It’s an art form,” she responded. “But I got it.”

Elsewhere on the 2024 Met Gala red carpet, Kardashian posed for photos with Lana Del Rey, who sported a custom nude gown with decals by Alexander McQueen. Like Kardashian, the singer donned her own unique accessories, wearing a sheer veil over a headpiece made of tree branches.

“I feel like we have sister corset shapes going on,” Del Rey quipped in a joint interview with Kardashian with Vogue red carpet correspondent La La Anthony. “Very architectural, I love it. I’m obsessed.”

As a Met Gala vet — having attended fashion’s biggest night 11 times over the years — Kardashian was asked what she looks forward to the most about the event. “Honestly, I really just look forward to seeing friends,” she shared. “I look forward to seeing my sisters. We’re on a group chat before we get here and it’s like we all get nervous before we get here. We all get nervous no matter how many times we’ve been.”

Kim was one of four members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan in attendance at last year’s Met Gala. Both Kris Jenner and Kylie Jenner opted for white gowns, while Kendall Jenner went for a dark look before changing into a white dress of her own for an afterparty.
