Justin Hartley’s Colter Confuses Randy for Bobby After ‘Tracker’ Absence

Justin Harley‘s Colter confused Randy for his cousin, Bobby, after Eric Graise‘s unexpectedly lengthy Tracker hiatus.

During the Sunday, April 27, episode of Tracker, Colter called Bobby (Graise) for help with a case not realizing he had someone else on the line instead.

“Hey Bobby,” he told Randy (Chris Lee), who replied, “Try again!”

Colter was glad to hear from Randy again after the pair worked on a missing person situation in a previous episode. Before they could catch up, Bobby interrupted, telling his cousin,”What are you doing at my desk? You got a desk right here.”

Bobby added: “Sorry about that, C. Business has been booming so you got a tag team.”

Despite the adjustment, Randy noted to Colter that they were ready to help as they continue to “work out the kinks.” The family members started working together after Graise’s return as Bobby.

The actor has been front and center on Tracker since the show debuted in February 2024. Despite missing a few episodes in season 1, Bobby was a consistent resource for Colter until season 2 introduced Randy, who filled in for him on several cases.

During a March episode of the hit CBS series, Colter asked Randy if he’d heard from Bobby. Randy said no before hinting, “You know how he gets. He doesn’t like to talk about personal stuff.”

Colter, meanwhile, noted that Bobby was going to his “friend’s funeral,” and Randy replied, “I know that is hitting him hard. They were like brothers.” While Colter “sent him a few texts,” he understood that he hadn’t “heard anything back” because Bobby “was just taking some time” for himself.

“He will get back to it — and if he doesn’t then I will make sure he does,” Randy added. “No way out but through.”

Bobby returned on screen earlier this month when Reenie (Fiona Rene) got a call from Randy.

“I heard that Bobby was back. It is so good to hear your voice,” she told Bobby, who added, “I am taking it one day at a time. But I had to come back and fix this mess. This man got chip dust all over my keyboard and gummy worms all over the place.”

Colter will need all the help he can get as the main character heads into the last episodes of season 2. Ahead of the finale, Hartley teased what is still to come Colter’s way before production kicks off on season 3.

“You are going to get the last five episodes in a row. So, you’re getting five separate movies. We call them little movies. As we’re inching closer to the end of the season, we creep closer and closer to the mystery of what the hell happened to Colter’s father,” Hartley told The Hollywood Reporter on April 20. “How did he die? Was there in fact another man in the woods? Did he get pushed? Did he get killed? Was it an accident? What the hell is going on with that?”

According to Hartley, there is a setup for Colter’s next chapter.

“Of course, we have many more stories to tell. Now we’re in new territory. We have a couple of ideas. One of these is that Colter has all of these skills — he’s a survivalist and he knows how to be alone, and he knows how to find people and he’s gifted in that regard. He’s a great listener,” he noted. “But it would be interesting, I think, to see him be set up. In other words, to see him using all those skills to run from the authorities, because you’ve been set up for whatever reason.”

Hartley continued: “I’d love to have all that tie into the family background, the government. So, we’ll see. We’ve been kicking that idea around. We have a lot of different stuff that we’re talking about. We have the underlying theme of what we’re going to do next year, while not really changing the direction of where our story is going.”

Tracker airs on CBS Sundays at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Paramount+.
