Why Brittany Cartwright Wouldn’t Let Jax Taylor Kiss Their Son on His Face

Brittany Cartwright can’t stop and won’t stop setting boundaries with estranged husband Jax Taylor.

During the Tuesday, April 22, episode of The Valley, Brittany, 36, had one request for Jax, 45, when he came home to see their 4-year-old son Cruz.

“Don’t kiss on him. Don’t kiss him on the face,” she said. “I just don’t want you kissing him on his face because you had a disgusting girl here last night.”

As security camera footage of a mystery woman leaving the couple’s house earlier in the day began to air, Jax denied anything bad happened.

“She was in my spare bedroom,” he said, before Brittany pointed out it was her mom’s room for when she visits.

“She has a house. Why couldn’t you go there?” she continued. “That was our one rule.”

In a confessional interview, Jax expressed how caught off guard he was by Brittany when he entered the house. Little did he know that Brittany finding a cup with lipstick on it in the refrigerator didn’t exactly help his cause.

“I just wanted to see Cruz and give him a big hug and a big kiss, and then right off the bat, Brittany is just coming at me,” he said. “I know I invited Paige over and I know that’s one of the rules I wasn’t supposed to break. But she was breaking the rules, too. The rules were nobody that we knew.”

In May 2024, Jax was spotted spending time with model Paige Woolen. When romance rumors began to surface, the former Vanderpump Rules star set the record straight by clarifying that he was single.

“I am not dating anyone and I wish you all knew the full story of this situation,” he wrote via X at the time. “Its not what you think. 😔.”

Regardless of what went on with Jax and Paige, Brittany couldn’t help but break down when trying to have a conversation with the father of her child.

“What are you doing? I don’t even recognize who you are anymore. Who are you?” she said on Tuesday’s episode. “You need help. You need to go get help for yourself and for your son. He cannot grow up and become a person like you.”

Jax later decided to enter in-person treatment to address his mental health struggles.

In a confessional interview for The Valley, Jax explained why he thought it was necessary to receive some professional help and guidance.

“I’m spiraling out of control,” he said before costar Jason Caperna drove him to the undisclosed treatment center. “I’m doing this for my son, and I don’t want her to take him away from me. If I have to do this so she won’t do that, then I’m going to do it.”

The Valley airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. Catch up on old episodes anytime via Peacock.
