Richard Gere and Wife Alejandra Hit Red Carpet With His Son Homer, 24

Richard Gere and his wife, Alejandra Silva, turned their latest red carpet outing into a family affair.

Gere, 75, and Silva, 42, walked the red carpet at the City Harvest Presents the 2025 Gala: Carnaval on Tuesday, April 22, in New York City alongside his eldest son, Homer. (Gere shares Homer, 24, with ex-wife Carey Lowell.)

The Pretty Woman star and Homer twinned in navy suits with white button-down shirts, while Silva stunned in a coordinating blue brocade gown.

Gere and Lowell, who also shares a daughter with ex-husband Griffin Dunne, were married from 2002 to 2013. Their divorce was finalized in 2016 before Gere found love with Silva. After three years of dating, Gere and Silva secretly wed in 2018.

Gere and Silva — who coparents her son, Albert, with ex-husband Govind Friedland — went on to welcome two sons together in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

“The children did not want me to leave this morning. They asked me about their mother and I told them that she was in a meeting,” Gere told Elle España in January. “And [they asked], ’Where are you going, Dad?’ ‘To a meeting too.’”

Silva, for her part, told the outlet that Gere was “a very devoted” parent.

“Richard is a very devoted and present father. He loves to read them stories. It seems like an idyllic photo, but it’s true,” Silva said. “He’s a great dad. He doesn’t cook. I do it, but when I cook, he plays the guitar.”

Gere and Silva had relocated their blended brood from upstate New York to Silva’s native Spain last year.

Richard Gere Poses in Rare Photos With Kids for Father’s Day

“My wife is Spanish, and she gave me about seven years here, so we’re going to spend some years in Madrid with her family,” Gere said during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2024. “Our kids are bilingual, so they’re going to flourish there.”

According to Gere, their family has indeed thrived since moving abroad.

“The truth is that you are seeing us in our momentum. We are happier than ever,” Gere told Elle of the move. “She, because she is at home, and I because, if she is happy, I am happy.”

He added, “We can all minimize this sense of ego, of the self. And that’s when true change occurs. My wife shines for her open-mindedness and her genuine sense of gratitude. So connecting with that, however you do it, whether you consider it spirit or religion, love or compassion… it’s infinite.”
