Cory Hardrict Makes Rare Comment About Coparenting With Ex Tia Mowry

Cory Hardrict is opening up about coparenting with his ex-wife, Tia Mowry.

Hardrict, 45, said that he always thinks about his children first when it comes to parenting, and avoids any outside noise.

“If you really love your children, you won’t get involved in the noise or the mess,” he said on the Monday, April 7, episode of Sherri. “I make sure I always think about them first. I put myself last. So, if you do that, you’re gonna avoid the mess, right? It’s not mess in regards to the situation, it’s just what people create, like narratives. Because no one knows nothing.”

The All American: Homecoming actor and Mowry, 46, were married from 2008 to 2023 and share two children, Cree, 13, and daughter Cairo, 6.

“Just love. Everything starts and ends with love,” the Die Like a Man star said. “We’re a family. No matter what people say. I block out the noise. My kids [are] gonna live to see all this one day, and it’s just kind of like, I gotta make sure I’m representing for them.”

Hardrict and Mowry tied the knot in 2008 after eight years together. She shared in October 2022 that the pair decided to call it quits. (The exes finalized their divorce in April 2023.)

“I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways,” Mowry wrote via Instagram at the time. “These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.”

Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict: The Way They Were

In December 2024, the Sister, Sister actress reflected on navigating coparenting during the holidays after her divorce.

“Happy Holidays from my family to yours! 🎄✨. Co-parenting during the holidays is a journey — one that’s filled with a mix of emotions,” Mowry wrote via Instagram on Christmas Eve. “It’s different, and yes, it can feel challenging and even lonely at times, especially when you’re adjusting to a new family dynamic.”

Mowry noted that she’s “found the beauty in it” as time has passed. “It’s an opportunity for my kids to build meaningful relationships with both parents, and for me, it creates space for self-discovery, healing, and rejuvenation,” she wrote.

Alongside the message, Mowry posed in matching red plaid pajamas with son Cree and daughter Cairo. The carousel of snaps featured solo images of the two children and Mowry posing beside a Christmas tree.
