Blake Lively Says Baking With Friends Is Her ‘Happy Place’ Amid Legal Drama

Blake Lively is finding solace in the kitchen with good friends amid her ongoing It Ends With Us legal drama.

“Baking with genius food friends and their kitchen mixer the size of a car,” Lively, 37, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Saturday, March 28, sharing a pic of their culinary concoction.

Lively added a “this is what my happy place looks like” sticker to her upload, as well as one that read, “TBD.”

The Gossip Girl alum has long been a passionate baker, previously telling Vogue in 2014 that her husband, Ryan Reynolds, jokingly calls their home “The Blakery” since she’s always making treats for their family. (Lively and Reynolds, 48, share four children.)

How Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Are Coping Amid Justin Baldoni Lawsuits

“Food is probably the most central part of my life,” Lively told Vogue in an August 2024 interview while making her signature Key Lime Pie. “Food and family, but those are completely intertwined because food was so important to me growing up [since] my mom is an amazing cook.”

Lively has recently been embroiled in a messy legal back-and-forth with her It Ends With Us director and costar, Justin Baldoni. The actress accused Baldoni, 41, of sexual harassment, fostering a hostile work environment and attempting to destroy her reputation in a December 2024 lawsuit. Baldoni has fervently denied the accusations and filed a $400 million defamation suit against Lively and Reynolds.

The married couple denounced the allegations before each filing to dismiss Baldoni’s petition earlier this month.

“This lawsuit is a profound abuse of the legal process that has no place in federal court. California law now expressly prohibits suing victims who make the decision to speak out against sexual harassment or retaliation, whether in a lawsuit or in the press,” Lively’s attorneys told Us Weekly in a statement. “This meritless and retaliatory lawsuit runs head first into three legal obstacles, including the litigation, fair report, and sexual harassment privileges, the latter of which contains a mandatory fee shifting provision that will require the likes of … Wayfarer Studios, and others that brought frivolous defamation claims against Ms. Lively to pay damages.”

The statement continued, “In other words, in an epic self-own, the Wayfarer Parties’ attempt to sue Ms. Lively ‘into oblivion’ has only created more liability for them, and deservedly so, given what they have done.”

A judge has not yet ruled on either Lively or Reynolds’ requests to dismiss the defamation lawsuit. Until then, a trial is scheduled to commence in May 2026.
