Mariah Carey is off the market and dating Anderson .Paak.
“Mariah and Anderson are dating, they met working last summer and he has always been a huge fan and looked up to her,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “Their dates have been very far apart because of schedules, but it’s been going on a few months.”
The insider adds that .Paak, 39, “is very smitten” with Carey, 55, who thinks “he’s very sweet” and “loves how musically inclined” he is.

The update comes after Carey and .Paak fueled romance rumors when they were spotted holding hands in Los Angeles while leaving the Birds Street Cafe on Sunday, March 23.

A separate source shares with Us that Carey “hasn’t seriously dated anyone in years” and .Paak (real name Brandon Paak Anderson) is the “first person she has truly been interested in.”
“He has really been keeping her attention and they are full on dating,” the insider notes. “Their relationship started in the studio as they were working on new music together and it quickly turned romantic.”
While Carey was “never anticipating” the relationship, the source says she was “pleasantly surprised” with how charming .Paak was. He “won her over quickly” and “adores” Carey, the insider adds.
“They have a lot in common and it’s going really well,” the source shares, noting that they have both children who are teenagers and have “bonded over parenthood and raising kids in today’s day and age.”
Carey is mom to twins Moroccan and Monroe, whom she welcomed in 2011 with ex Nick Cannon. .Paak, for his part, is dad to sons Soul Rasheed and Shine Tariq with estranged wife Jaylyn Chang. (After 13 years of marriage, he filed for divorce from Chang in January 2024, according to court documents obtained by Us.)
“It’s nice for Mariah to be around someone very talented in the music industry,” the insider notes. “She feels challenged and reinvigorated about new projects coming up.”

Carey and .Paak were first photographed together in November 2024, when they attended a Halloween Party. “WE HAD A THRILLER NIGHT TO SAY THE LEAST! BIG SHOUTS TO EVERYBODY WHO CAME OUT TO @andys_weho FIRST EVER HALLOWEEN PARTY! IT WAS A STONE GROOOVE JACK!! SEE YAH NEXT YEAR!” .Paak captioned his Instagram post at the time, alongside a photo of Carey smiling at him.
The next month, Carey and .Paak were spotted holding hands in Aspen. After the outing, TMZ reported that the twosome were just friends. One week later, Carey and .Paak held hands while attending a dinner together in Aspen. Earlier this month, Carey received the icon award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and .Paak helped her onstage.
