For Nikki and Brie Garcia, putting their health first is second nature.
As professional wrestlers and athletes, the twins have always made diet and fitness a priority in their life. But after becoming parents and turning 40, the Garcia sisters, now 41, wanted to pass on their healthy habits to a new generation.
“It’s funny because I feel like [my kids] see us do it, and so they ask questions, and I’m really honest with them,” Brie exclusively shared with Us Weekly while serving as Hone Health’s new ambassador with sister Nikki. “I feel like when I speak to my 4-year-old [son Buddy] and my 7-year-old [daughter Birdie] and I explain, ‘This is what gives you longevity. This is what will make you feel 100 percent better.’ You can speak in kid terms.”
From our partners:
Brie — who shares her two children with husband Bryan Danielson — explained that when adults relate food and wellness to ordinary activities, it sticks with kids.

“[I say,] ‘Buddy, this is what’s gonna make you the fastest boy and this is what’s gonna make you excel at sports,’” Brie explained. “And with Birdie, I’m like, ‘This is what will make your brain be even more creative and open to really fun ideas.’ When you speak to your children that way, they do actually care.”
“We go bike riding as a family. We’re really big into hiking,” she added. “I feel like when they see Bryan and I enjoying it and truly having passion for it, they have it too. We have six chickens and we have garden beds and they’re out there doing all of it.”

For Nikki — who shares 4-year-old son Matteo with ex Artem Chigvintsev — home is a place where brain health is discussed at a kid level.
“We dance a lot together. Let me tell you, I dance a lot over here, which is a great thing. It’s tiring!” she told Us with a laugh.
“I’ve taught him that [healthy foods are] making your brain healthy,” Nikki added. “We have a lot of brain talks so it’s cute. One of my sitters the other day goes, ‘Oh, so you know, when I gave Matteo his vitamins, he said my mom tells me this is what makes my brain healthy and I have to do it.’”
Healthy habits, however, don’t just happen overnight.
Brie recalled a childhood where visiting fast food restaurants like Jack in the Box or McDonald’s was a regular thing because of busy schedules.

“It was just easy, convenient and there, so we had to really get rid of bad habits in our 20s,” Brie said. “I’ll admit when I hear that Coca-Cola can open and someone puts it over ice. … Those are childhood habits.”
While their eating habits have changed over the years, both Nikki and Brie are comfortable having a “cheat” day and splurging on foods they love in moderation.
Although Brie is lactose intolerant, she loves to treat herself to a good pizza and a glass of wine.
“That’s my cheat meal,” she explained. “That’s what I enjoy. [But] I definitely got rid of snacking.”

As for Nikki, she admitted to reaching for the black licorice or chocolate covered pretzels whenever she feels low energy or needs to decompress.
“For me, it’s the toughest,” she said. “But it’s the biggest game changer where I’m like, ‘Oh, so that’s how everyone looks better. They just don’t snack on things like that.’ And they maybe have a drink once a week. But wine, I will never get rid of.”
As part of their partnership with Hone Health — the leading telehealth clinic specializing in preventative and proactive longevity care — Nikki and Brie are hoping to empower people to take charge of their aging journey through science-backed treatments, at-home biomarker testing and expert-led care.
When looking at the future, the Total Bellas stars want to be hands-on moms who have plenty of strength and endurance to keep up with their growing kids.
Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev’s Relationship Timeline
“I wanna be able to be that active parent, especially with my wild son who has so much energy,” Brie shared. “I don’t wanna have to go through the motions. I wanna be very present. I wanna be the one out there playing soccer with him and feel like I’m capable. … And I knew that I had to take my health and [be in] control now so I can be 70 years old and people will be like, ‘Dang! You look 50!’ But also that I feel that way too. I’m out there doing yoga, I’m being able still to touch my toes and running around still with the kids.”
Nikki added, “I want to be a grandma for a long time, but do it right. I wanna see Matteo get old and know what he would look like when he’s close to retirement if I make it that far. And I think what’s also neat about Hone Health is when we speak of longevity, we get to find out a lot of things that we were either passed down through our families of certain genetic disorders or something that we can actually fix if we know or we know how to work with it.”
