Teddi Mellencamp is continuing to lean on estranged husband Edwin Arroyave for support as she undergoes treatment to fight multiple brain tumors.
Arroyave, 47, recently accompanied the couple’s 12-year-old daughter, Slate, to her science fair while Mellencamp, 43, was receiving radiation treatment. (The couple also shares sons Cruz, 10, and Dove, 5).
Mellencamp posted a video of Slate presenting her winning project at the fair, titled “Is Starbucks Staining Your Teeth?”
From our partners:
“So proud of @Slate_Mellencamp_EQ and Lila,” she wrote over the video. “Winners of science fair. I was getting radiation so I am grateful to @edwinarroyaveofficial for being there to support the girls. I am also happy I don’t drink coffee.”
Where Teddi Mellencamp and Edwin Arroyave Stand After Her Brain Surgery
Mellencamp’s post (and Slate’s big win) come just days after Slate was also named circuit champion at an equestrian event over the weekend. It was an opportunity for mother and daughter to ride together, and Mellencamp celebrated that moment on Instagram on Sunday, March 16.

“When you’re battling cancer or any sickness, mental health is just as important as physical,” she wrote in the caption. “To get to ride again, with Slate by my side, is the best supplement to the medical treatments that I am confident will wipe out these tumors.”
“My heart and soul got a huge boost this weekend And now I’m more than ready to start radiation this week,” she added.
Mellencamp continues to undergo treatment following surgery in February to remove two brain tumors. Her radiation is to address the smaller ones that were not removed in surgery.
Teddi Mellencamp Breaks Her Silence After Surgery for Brain Tumors
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum opened up about the toll her treatment has taken in a video posted via her Instagram Story on Saturday, March 15.
“I know I speak a lot about all the fun and amazing things that I’ve been doing since all of the tumors, and I have been doing them, and it’s been my way of peace, of coping, finding happiness, but I also wanted to send a reminder and a gentle, like, ‘I feel you,’ if you’re going through this, going through a hard time, that is also normal,” she said. “We all find our new normal, and we do the best that we can to feel as good as we can in that moment. Some nights [are] really hard. Tonight’s one of them.”
As the treatment process continues, Mellencamp and Arroyave have turned their focus to her health. A source told Us Weekly exclusively in February that the couple’s divorce is “still happening,” but is not their top priority.
“The divorce is not anyone’s focus at the moment,” the source said, “Edwin wants to be there for Teddi and their family in any way they need.”
Mellencamp and Arroyave were married for 13 years before they announced their divorce in November 2024.
