When not on the Banker’s Island, Joe Manganiello is taking his time to expand his cinema knowledge.
The Deal or No Deal Island host, 48, exclusively reveals his current movie obsession is “Anora,” in the latest issue of Us Weekly’s What I’m Obsessed With series. He adds, “I love Sean Baker movies.”
From our partners:
Manganiello isn’t the only one singing Baker’s praises as Anora took home five awards during the 2025 Academy Awards. Baker, 54, made history at the awards show becoming the first director to win four categories for a single film. He personally took home trophies in the Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing and Best Picture categories. The movie’s star Mikey Madison won Best Actress for her role as the titular character.
Manganiello’s affinity for film doesn’t stop there. In fact, his podcast listening habits reflect his love for the cinema.

“I love ‘The Rewatchables,’” he gushed. “ As you could maybe guess, I’m a huge movie buff.”
“The Rewatchables” is a podcast hosted by The Ringer founder Bill Simmons. Each episode highlights a movie where Simmons, 55, goes into a deep dive about the movie itself, what accolades it won and if it stood over the test of time. Simmons is typically joined by multiple guests from The Ringer’s universe.

“I love that gang’s takes and enthusiasm,” Manganiello said of Simmons’ dynamic with his guests.
When not watching movies, Manganiello also has a love for music, books and TV. His favorite album is Tool’s Fear Inoculum — which has been on repeat since it came out five years ago.
“I’ve listened to [this rock album] every week at the minimum since it first dropped in 2019,” he said.
As for what’s on Manganiello’s bookshelf, his must-read is the self-help book The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness & Healing in a Toxic Culture.
“Every doctor in the Western Hemisphere needs to read this,” he said.

Joe Manganiello on Deal or No Deal Island
For his TV viewing pleasure, Manganiello can’t help but recommend his own show — Deal or No Deal Island. The reality competition series, which its super fans lovingly refer to as DONDI, is in its second season. Manganiello, for his part, can’t believe that “this season turned out even better than” its first.
“DONDI is very strategic and favors gamers,” he said of the series. “It requires you to sense tectonic shifts in strategy quickly and act decisively while on your feet.”

While Manganiello doesn’t have the pleasure of getting to play The Banker’s game, he knows what he would do if given the chance.
“If I knew I had a target on my back, then I’d want to play rather than leave it up to trusting anyone else with my game,” he told Us. “But sometimes you’ve got to hope your social game was good enough and the person playing The Banker won’t target you.”
Deal or No Deal Island airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. ET on NBC and available to stream on Peacock the next day.
