‘Love Is Blind’ Alum Jimmy Presnell Reacts to Being Brought Up at Reunion

Love Is Blind’s Jimmy Presnell has some thoughts on his name being dragged into the season 8 reunion drama between Ben Mezzenga and Sara Carton.

“What’s up, guys. It’s Jimmy here. You may know me from Love Is Blind season 6 or potentially the season 8 of Love Is Blind reunion,” Jimmy said in a Monday, March 10, TikTok. “Wasn’t on the show or anything. Just caught a bunch of strays randomly, so appreciate that. Love getting support two years after my season so thank you so much for the shout-outs.”

Jimmy began to shake his head while laughing and raising his hands up in the air before continuing on with the video and explaining why he was name-dropped in Ben and Sara’s reunion exchange. (Ben and Sara got engaged during season 8 before splitting at the altar.)

“I was mentioned a time or two so I wanted to provide some clarity,” he said. “Love Is Blind actually connected me with Ben May of last year. So really as soon as he finished filming, which is pretty standard protocol. I was connected with people from past seasons when I finished filming and I was connected with people last season as well.”

He continued, “It’s solely to help them navigate that period of timing where you probably have a ton of anxiety waiting for your season to air to see how you’ll be portrayed. It’s like a 10, 11 month period so I want to help anyway I can and, you know, I have a special place in my heart for people who have been on reality TV, especially Love Is Blind. I’ve been in his position. I understand.”

Jimmy explained that he felt “a little slighted” that he was “being pointed at for giving bad advice,” adding, “All I really did was be a sounding board for him and support him in making sure he’s good, because I know how I felt from that time especially when my season first aired.”

During the season 8 reunion, which aired on Sunday, March 9, Ben revealed he reached out to Sara so that the former couple could be on the same page ahead of the reunion — advice he received from a former cast member. While Ben didn’t name who gave him the advice — saying in part that he didn’t want to throw anyone “under the bus” — Sara revealed it was Jimmy who suggested that the pair create scripted responses.

Jimmy, who was in the hot seat in season 6 of the show, noted that he was “giddy” at the time about being connected to people from past seasons and told Chelsea Blackwell that the people he was speaking to were “really nice and really humble” and “gave great advice.” (Jimmy and Chelsea called it quits before saying “I do.”)

Are Love Is Blind’s Jimmy and Chelsea on a Romantic Getaway Right Now?

“Everyone has a different experience, but I had some type of a level of trust with Chelsea at that point, so I felt comfortable telling her those things,” he said. “I shared information from cast members that gave me advice to Chelsea before our season came out so I know how it is, I’m not even mad at him. I’m mad it came out and I got jabbed for it.”

He continued, “I’m two seasons removed from this. I wasn’t doing anything that wasn’t asked of me and I was really just trying to support him. He was very anxious about the reunion and how to kind of go about it. I think that’s very normal. The advice I gave him was pretty simple. It was like, ‘Just enjoy the moment. Enjoy the ride and don’t sweat it until that time comes.’”

Jimmy explained that he’s “not mad,” noting that “it’s TV and both of their backs were against the wall.”

“He probably trusted her telling her my conversations with him and she either misconstrued that information or that’s just a total lie because she felt her back was against the wall,” he said. “Why would I tell them to come together with rehearsed reunion questions? I definitely didn’t say that but I do think it’s great advice to see what the internet has to say and then come prepared to the reunion. That’s what I told Ben and I wasn’t talking to Ben and Sara, I was talking to Ben. Come on! We’re on season 8!”
