John Mulaney and Olivia Munn won’t forget their wedding celebration — thanks in no small part to their son’s smelly interruption.
“He turned 3 in November,” Mulaney, 42, said of his son, Malcolm, while appearing on the Monday, March 10, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! “Over the summer, he was a 2-year-old. He was at our wedding in a little tuxedo and shorts. He actually went to the bathroom in his diaper during [the ceremony] and announced it mid-vows. A very sweaty little 2-year-old in a tuxedo just went, ‘I’m pooping!’”
When host Jimmy Kimmel pointed out the unique timing of the confession, Mulaney took it in stride.

Bathroom antics aside, Mulaney and Munn, 44, — who also share 5-month-old daughter Mei — enjoyed their “simple” ceremony that took place after three years of dating.
“We were married by Sam Waterston from Law & Order and a costar of Olivia’s from The Newsroom who once said to Olivia, ‘If you ever get married, I’ll perform the ceremony,’” Mulaney shared. “I think it was chit-chat but you take people up from what they offer.”
In August 2024, Mulaney first confirmed reports that he was indeed married to Munn after experiencing a private wedding event.
“I got married. Thanks a lot. It’s the best,” the comedian shared on Late Night With Seth Meyers. “It’s the greatest single time in my life.”
“I’ve been in a lot of interesting situations, but marrying into a large Vietnamese family is one of the most fun things I’ve ever done,” he continued. “They’re the best, man. One of them will come with you anywhere, and they call me John Mulaney — full name. Full name all the time: ‘Olivia’s here with John Mulaney.’”
While the pair try to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, both Mulaney and Munn recently stepped out for the 22025 Vanity Fair Oscars Party earlier this month.
Munn was also spotted sitting next to her husband in the SNL 50: The Anniversary Special crowd in February.

“[She is] wildly, wildly out of my league,” Mulaney joked to Page Six in December 2024 about his wife. “She’s somehow with this working comedian when she could be with Mr. Richard Kind, who is single. … Look at him! He’s a magnet.”
In a separate interview with GQ, the comedian also tried to summarize his life as a husband with two kids.
“It was like a tornado picked me up, head to toe, hip to hip,” Mulaney told the publication in November 2024. “And I landed somewhere extremely lucky and nice, where I’m having the best time in life.”
