Bridgerton isn’t returning to Netflix just yet — but Simone Ashley promises season 4 is worth the wait.
“I can say that I’m super excited for the world to see this season,” Ashley, 29, exclusively told Us Weekly at the premiere of her movie Picture This. “It just gets better and better.”
Ashley was “not allowed” to tease much more as production on season 4 continues. She did weigh in on the way Bridgerton — and other projects — have used intimacy coordinators, adding, “We treat them like choreographers. So everyone feels safe and everyone knows what to expect.”

The actress had more freedom to discuss her lead role in Picture This. “I love the romance of Picture This, and that’s second chances,” she told Us. “I think never say never. What I love about rom-coms and this movie is it gives you that belief and hope that second chances and love are possible.”

The Prime Video film, which was released Thursday, March 6, takes inspiration from Five Blind Dates by Shawn Seet. In addition to Ashley, Picture This stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Anoushka Chadha, Luke Fetherston, Sindhu Vee, Phil Dunster and more.
“I love all the roles I’ve done, and I’ve loved playing the character in this one,” Fiennes Tiffin, 27, shared with Us. “I think it’s the first out-and-out rom-com that I’ve done. It’s been an absolute pleasure.”
He continued: “But for me, I’m always quite excited to do something different from the last. So I don’t think I’m itching to do a rom-com immediately, but I’m sure in two, three jobs time, I will be missing it and will want to do another rom-com again.”
After watching Picture This, fans can see more of Ashley’s skills in the romance genre with Bridgerton. The hit Regency show, which is based on the book series written by Julia Quinn, centers around members of the wealthy Bridgerton family as they search for love in 19th century London.
Ashley joined the cast in season 2 as Bridgerton focused on Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) finding love with Kate Sharma (Ashley).
Anthony and Kate took a step back from the spotlight in season 3, which was focused on Penelope (Nicola Coughlin) and Colin (Luke Newton). Some of the third season revolved around Anthony and Kate’s multiple honeymoons before they decided to travel to India amid her first pregnancy.

“I think the strength of sending them off to India for a little while is that it does leave the door open for them to come back, schedules allowing,” showrunner Jess Brownell told Teen Vogue in June 2024. “I think, understandably, when any of our lead actors have given over their lives for their season, in future seasons, we want to be supportive of the fact that they do have other projects coming in, and to ask actors to come back just to be in the background is not really fair to them.”
Brownell clarified, however, that the writers room wants Bailey, 36, and Ashley to come back “as much” as they are able to, adding, “They give so much, even with just tiny little looks and gestures. They’re a magic pairing, absolutely.”
Bailey and Ashley have since both been confirmed to return. Season 4 is expected to premiere in 2026 at the earliest.
