Actress Taryn Manning is suing DJ Caroline D’Amore in an effort to get back her slice of the pie to the tune of $80,000 for an alleged loan in a pizza company.

In court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Manning, 46, claimed she entered into a written loan agreement with D’Amore, 40, in November 2019, which they both signed.

Manning offered to provide $80,000 to assist D’Amore in her pizza restaurant business known as Pizza Girl.

D’Amore was expected to make monthly $3,500 payments starting July 4, 2020. Manning alleged, however, that D’Amore has made “only sporadic partial payments” totaling $17,250.

Within the last four years, D’Amore “breached the contract” by failing to pay Manning pursuant to the terms of the loan agreement, court documents claimed.

Manning is hoping to be repaid and wants D’Amore pay for the cost of the lawsuit and attorney’s fees, per the paperwork filed in Los Angeles on Monday, March 3.

In response to the lawsuit, D’Amore told Us on Wednesday, March 5, “While I wish there actually was something a bit juicier here, my ex-husband and I took a personal loan from Taryn a while back and I have been making monthly payments.”

While the pair’s current friendship status is unclear, D’Amore previously attended Manning’s star-studded birthday party in 2003. More recently, Manning supported D’Amore and Pizza Girl at a 2019 event with alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet.

D’Amore previously starred in The Hills: New Beginnings after Mischa Barton left the show. Before making her debut in season 2, she shared a glimpse into her connections with the cast.

“I did a movie with Audrina [Patridge] called Sorority Row way back in the day, and we actually played sisters in it, and we kind of stayed close since then,” D’Amore exclusively told Us in May 2021. “Brody [Jenner] and I knew each other very young. [We] went to Malibu High together.”

More recently, she appeared in Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars and was named the runner-up when season 1 concluded in 2023.

Raised in Malibu, California, as one of four daughters of the D’Amores Pizza Family, D’Amore was inspired by her grandmother to create her own pasta sauce to share with a new generation of home cooks.

While the coronavirus pandemic threatened D’Amore’s business, the entrepreneur decided to rebrand.

“I paused, then surrounded myself with like-minded partners and restructured from the ground up using all that I had learned, and a crazy determination,” she said on her website. “I decided I would only work with people who really have my back and share my belief and vision of Pizza Girl. I am beyond overjoyed to be able to #relaunchthesauce back into the homes, hearts, and bellies of America.”

D’Amore currently has a Pizza Girl brick-and-mortar store in Venice Beach, California, and is expected to open up another location at Hotel Ziggy in West Hollywood later this month.
