Sister Wives star Janelle Brown is paying tribute to her son Garrison one year after his death.
“I stay busy but in EVERY quiet moment you are first and foremost in my thoughts. It’s been a year baby. We miss you so much. I miss you so much,” Brown, 55, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, March 5. “I encourage everyone reading this to consider making a donation to your local animal shelter, rescue, or humane society. This cause was close to Garrison’s heart — he adopted all three of his cats from shelters.”
Alongside the message, Brown shared a photo of Garrison sitting on a chair while cradling a cat to his chest. “To the stars, Bowen, to the stars,” Brown wrote over the picture. She also included the suicide and crisis hotline in her post.

News broke in March 2024 that Janelle and Kody Brown’s son died at age 25. “Janelle and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” Kody, 56, shared via Instagram. “He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. Our loss will leave such a big hole in our lives, that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”
Us Weekly confirmed at the time that Garrison died by suicide. He is survived by his parents and siblings, including Kody’s children from his previous marriages to Meri Brown and Christine Brown and current marriage to Robyn Brown.
Six months after Garrison’s death, Janelle honored her son in an emotional post. “6 months ago today you went away. You come up in my photo memories almost every day,” she wrote via Instagram in September 2024. “Sometimes it doesn’t seem like you’re gone. And then I remember I won’t be getting a call or text from you and it all comes rushing back. I know you fought hard but in the end you just couldn’t stay. I love you so much and will see you again when my journey is done.”

In the season 19 premiere of Sister Wives, which aired that same month, the series addressed Garrison’s death. “This season of Sister Wives began filming in late 2022,” a title card read at the beginning of the episode. “On March 5, 2024, Kody and Janelle’s son Garrison passed away. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.”
