Paul Wesley is returning to his roots with a new vampire show — but would his former The Vampire Diaries costar Kat Graham be interested in making an appearance?
“I did not know this was happening. When did he do this?” Graham, 35, asked while speaking exclusively to Us Weekly at the 16th Annual AAFCA Awards on Wednesday, February 19.
Despite not having a full breakdown of Wesley’s new project, Graham didn’t rule out a reunion, adding, “I would return to the world of witches. They are getting tired of these vampires. I would definitely return to the world of witches.”
From our partners:
Graham wouldn’t mind returning to the supernatural realm — as long as it isn’t a rehashing of their time on The CW show. “I don’t know about the same situation, but I love a powerful Black girl with extra powers,” she added. “Give me a few of them women and we will talk.”
‘Vampire Diaries’ Cast: Where Are They Now?
The actress became a household name after playing teen witch Bonnie on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries, which ran from 2009 to 2017. Wesley, 42, for his part, brought the role of heartthrob and immortal vampire Stefan to life alongside Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder as Elena and Damon, respectively.

Deadline reported last month that Wesley is an executive producer on an untitled Fox comedy about a determined 25-year-old vampire who struggles with running the family business for his murderous and suffocating vampire parents while trying to chase his dream to become an actor. The series, which has yet to be officially picked up, is written by Unstable cocreator Victor Fresco and directed by The Rookie‘s Liz Friedlander.
While fans wait for more updates on Wesley’s passion project, Graham is celebrating her role in Tyler Perry‘s Duplicity.
“I’m trying not to give any spoilers. But it’s a thriller, and it really keeps you guessing. Nothing is as it seems,” she teased to Us on Wednesday. “What you think you’re watching, it just keeps you guessing. But it’s also grounded in the storytelling that we’ve seen based on situations that are happening in America.”
Projects That Reunited ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Cast, Crew After the Show Ended
Graham has been “dying to tell” everyone about her experience collaborating with Perry, saying, “I have idolized this man! I have his plays on DVD and I have been living in the Tyler Perry world as a fan very consistently. I feel like I have been a fan forever and it always felt like a far away dream that I get to work with him.”
She continued: “This is somebody who isn’t just an icon. He is somebody who created something out of his own mind. He was just able to conquer and do things that no one else has been able to do. So in a hundred years from now, people will be talking about this man. The fact that I’m not only a part of this film, but I am starring in it, on top of all this, it is mind-blowing to me.”
