The Bachelor host Jesse Palmer is weighing in on Juliana Pasquarosa and Carolina Quixano’s conversation while both pursuing connections with Grant Ellis.
“I thought Juliana and Carolina had a very mature and level-headed discussion regarding their own feelings,” Palmer, 46, told Entertainment Weekly in an interview published on Tuesday, February 18. “While they have opposing views and ultimately choose to ‘agree to disagree,’ I commend the tone of that conversation, because we’ve all seen instances in the past when those kinds of discussions heat up and are not as respectful.”
In the Monday, February 17, episode of the ABC reality series, Juliana, 28, asked Carolina, 29, to have a conversation during the cocktail party of the group date. From Juliana’s perspective, Carolina didn’t appear “grateful” enough for the one-on-one time she received with Grant, 31.

The conversation did not appear to resolve tensions between the pair, and the women seemed to side with Juliana — leading Carolina to cry. Noticing Carolina’s tears, Grant pulled her aside for more one-on-one time and ultimately decided to not hand out a rose on the date. After Juliana apologized to the group for potentially contributing to Grant’s decision, Zoe McGrady reassured her it wasn’t her fault.
Ahead of the episode airing, Carolina defended feeling unsure about Grant early on in the season. “God forbid you’re not sure about a man you’ve been on one date with,” Carolina wrote via her Instagram Story on Monday, reposting a video from the show where she was confronted by her fellow contestants.
Following her exchange with Juliana, Carolina also found herself in the middle of drama with Rose Sombke that carried over from last week. During the week 3 episode, Rose, 27, allegedly told Carolina in an off-camera conversation that Grant was “thinking” of her while dancing with Carolina — which Carolina brought it up to Grant.

Grant reassured Carolina that the comment wasn’t true, before confronting Rose about the remark. While Rose stayed for another week, her connection with Grant appeared to take a hit — leading her to ultimately send herself home.
“Your actions really set me back … you backstabbed me. You f—ing did me dirty!” Rose told Carolina on Monday before beginning to cry. “I want to go home! I had a breaking point. It is in my best interests to go home.”
Despite the current drama on the show, Grant previously gushed that he’s pleased with the outcome of his season.
“I’m happy with life,” he exclusively told Us Weekly in January. “And I’m happy with the way that things are going and the way that things played out.”
The Bachelor airs on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m.
