Justin Baldoni’s lawyer is weighing in on Blake Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, poking fun at their ongoing legal drama at the SNL 50: The Anniversary Special.

“I’m unaware of anybody, frankly, whose wife has been sexually harassed and has made jokes about that type of situation. I can’t think of anyone who’s done anything like that,” Bryan Freedman said on the Monday, February 17, episode of the “Hot Mics With Billy Bush” podcast. “So it surprised me.”

Lively, 37, and Reynolds, 48, turned heads at the Sunday, February 16, event when they made their first public appearance since she filed a lawsuit accusing Baldoni, 41, of sexual harassment in December 2024 and allegedly attempting to destroy her reputation. (He has denied all allegations against him.)

While inside the event, Reynolds was asked how he was doing during a Q&A segment with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. “[I’m doing] great. Why, what have you heard?” Reynolds quipped in response.

After months of speculation of a rift between Lively and Baldoni on set, she filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual harassment. After denying the allegations, Baldoni fired back with a $400 million defamation lawsuit against both Lively and Reynolds, claiming she was “determined to make Baldoni the real-life villain in her story.” Lively’s legal team has denounced all accusations. A trial is scheduled for 2026.

As for how Baldoni is faring amid the legal drama, Freedman shared that the It Ends With Us actor and director is in Hawaii with his family to “get some semblance of peace.”

“I think he’s hopeful, and I think he’s grateful he’s with his family. … And grateful that he could let other fire victims use his house,” Freedman said on the Monday podcast episode. “Like anyone else who would be going through a situation where you’re accused of something you did not do and are suffering in a public way, I think it’s distressful, to say the least.”

One day after Reynolds’ comment, It Ends With Us costar Brandon Sklenar was asked whether he was a member of “Team Blake” or “Team Justin” and laughed it off. Instead of choosing sides, Skleanar, 34, simply replied, “I’m Team It Ends With Us.”

“I just want people to remember why we made the movie in the first place and what it stands for, just keeping the focus on that,” Sklenar said during an interview on CBS Mornings on Monday. “That movie meant so much to me. I have someone very, very close to me in my life who’s gone through what Lily’s going through for a long time and I’ve been on the front lines helping her navigate that space, so that movie meant a lot to me and it means a lot to her, this person in my life.”

He continued, “Me doing that film gave her the strength to change her life. Yeah, it means a lot to me. It’s unfortunate that things get taken away from what the ethos of that thing is, it gets convoluted.”
