Travis Kelce had a quick response when asked whether Kanye West is featured on his pump up playlist.
“Travis, I gotta know. I know you’re dating Taylor [Swift], but do you have any Kanye on your hype playlist?” a reporter asked Kelce, 35, during a press Super Bowl LIX conference posted to social media on Wednesday, February 5. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end simply replied, “No.”
The comment came days after West, 47, revealed that he only followed Swift, 35, on Instagram. Us Weekly later confirmed that West unfollowed Swift in favor of his wife, Bianca Censori.
From our partners:
Swift, who has been dating Kelce since summer 2023, has a long history with West, which dates back to 2009. While a then 19-year-old Swift was accepting her trophy for Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Awards, West interrupted her speech and claimed that Beyoncé should have won instead.
Did Taylor Swift Respond to Kanye West Rapping About Her and Travis Kelce?
West went on to mention Swift by name in his 2016 track “Famous,” saying, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / I made that bitch famous.” While West claimed that he had Swift’s permission to use the lyric, she has repeatedly denied the claim.
West’s then-wife, Kim Kardashian, went on to release footage of an alleged phone conversation between West and Swift — which seemed to back up West’s story. It was later revealed that the call was edited. (Kardashian, 44, said in 2020 that she felt the need to “defend” her then-husband, with whom she shares four children.)

After the drama, Swift took a step back from the public eye before dropping her 2017 album, Reputation. While reflecting on the events in 2023, Swift referred to the incident as a “career death.”
“Make no mistake — my career was taken away from me,” she recalled to TIME in a December 2023 profile. “You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar.”
Ed Kelce Slams Kanye West’s Lyrics About Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift
Swift continued, “That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.”
The next year, Swift appeared to reference the feud in a song off her The Tortured Poets Department album. While the track was initially released with the title “thanK you aIMee,” using capital letters to spell out “Kim,” a bonus version of the tune swapped “Kim” for “Ye.” (West has shortened his name to “Ye.”)

“Taylor has moved on and is not looking back,” a source exclusively told Us in April 2024. “The song is her final word.”
Months later, West name-dropped Swift and Kelce on his album Vultures 2. “I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce,” West rapped on the song “Lifestyle (Demo).”
After the release, fans suspected that Swift left an Easter egg in her Eras Tour performance in Warsaw, Poland, while wearing a T-shirt during her Red set that read, “I Bet You Think About Me.”
While “I Bet You Think About Me” is the name of a vault track from her 2012 album, some thought it was a reference to West. “She’s so funny for wearing the I bet you think about me shirt after Ka*ye name dropped her and Travis in his song an actual comedian,” one fan wrote via X. “[When I] saw the k*nye thing a little bit ago and I knew she was gonna wear it lmao.”
