Whenever we spot Katie Holmes out and about in New York City, we quickly add her outfit to our mental mood board. The 46-year-old actress has mastered the art of combining fashion with practicality, and her winter looks are packed with pieces we’d love to wear ourselves. In January alone, the Dawson’s Creek star was seen rocking a black wool trench coat on numerous occasions, reminding us that the layer is a timeless seasonal staple that goes with just about everything.
