Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman is the latest star to cohost Today with Jenna & Friends.

During the Tuesdsay, January 28, show, Schlapman revealed a secret she’s been keeping for almost 20 years.

When asked if she’s “ever had a wild night on vacation,” Schlapman said one story came to mind, but it was a secret only four people in her life knew about, not even her “mama and daddy” were aware.

In preparation for reveling the truth, Schlapman quickly gave her parents a call, so that they could hear it from her first before she shared the truth with the world.

“I was like, ‘Mama, is Daddy there, can he hear me? I have to tell you something,’ ” she recalled of the frantic phone call. “And I told her and she was like, ‘What?!’ And then finally I got more nervous and nervous and then she started giggling. And I was like, ‘Okay.’

In 2006, Schlapman married her husband Stephen Schlapman. They share two children, Dolly Grace and Daisy Pearl.

It’s publicly known that Schlapman and her husband exchanged vows in a traditional ceremony in November 2006. However, the secret was that they had already been married for six months.

“Schlap and I got married November 2006, but six months earlier we eloped to Vegas,” she revealed, admitting not even their kids were aware of their secret elopement.

“We planned it,” she said of the decision to say “I do” in Las Vegas first.

“We planned it because we were meeting some family out at the big beautiful lake out there. So Schlap was like, ‘What if we go a day early to get married.’ And I was like, ‘I’ve never done anything bad!’ And I was like, ‘Yes, yes.’ “

“And we kept the secret a really long time. And then — this was back when we were booking hotel rooms with Little Big Town, I had to tell Karen [Fairchild] because I wanted a hotel room with my husband. And so she knew and like one other person, I told my sister.”

Schlapman admitted it was “nice to be free” of her secret.
