Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been locked in a messy court battle ever since she filed for divorce in September 2016, but the pair were not always at odds.
The Oscar winners allegedly fell for each other while filming the 2005 action film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The origination of their relationship instantly caused controversy since Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time. The Friends alum filed for divorce from Pitt in March 2005.
Pitt and Jolie welcomed daughter Shiloh in 2006, the same year they adopted son Maddox and daughter Zahara. Jolie adopted son Pax in 2007 (Pitt followed suit in 2008). Their twins, Knox and Vivienne, were born in July 2008.

The couple officially tied the knot in France in August 2014, only to call it quits two years later. Jolie has accused her ex of being “physically and emotionally abusive” toward her and their kids on a September 2016 flight from California to France, which Pitt denied. The pair settled their divorce eight years later in December 2024.
Pitt filed a lawsuit against Jolie in February 2022, claiming she illegally sold her share of the French winery Château Miraval without his permission.
