The Kansas City Chiefs tight end addresses his girlfriend’s latest NFL appearance on his ‘New Heights’ podcast.
It seems even Travis Kelce gets star struck when Taylor Swift is in the stands. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end had the support of the singer during his most recent game against the New England Patriots, and couldn’t help but gush over her star power on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast.
“I mean, you don’t see an entire home team fanbase go insane for somebody wearing the opposite team’s colors,” Travis tells his brother and podcast co-host, Jason Kelce, a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, on Wednesday.
Travis and his Chiefs scored a victory over the Pats on Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Fresh off her own birthday celebrations, Taylor was joined by her dad, Scott Swift, in a private suite alongside Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, and Taylor’s pals Alana Haim, Ashley Avignone and more.

The Patriots called attention to their famous visitor by showing her on the jumbo screen at one point, prompting a visceral reaction from the home crowd.
“Just shows you how amazing that girl is,” Travis continues on Wednesday. “They went absolutely insane when they showed Taylor on the screen, yes.”
Then, referencing Taylor’s own quote from her Time magazine 2023 Person of the Year feature, he adds, “There might have been a few Brads and Chads that were booing, but for the most part everybody was screaming their f**king tails off for her.”
Travis sweetly goes on to admit, “I was trying to keep it cool. I was like, ‘Don’t show your cards. Don’t show your cards.'”
Swift has now attended seven of Travis’ games while on breaks from her Eras Tour. Since she first stepped out to cheer on her beau in September, fans have begun flocking to games holding signs and wearing t-shirts in her honor. Sunday’s game was no different, with “Go Taylor’s Boyfriend” and “Merry Swiftmas” among the messages on display.
“It was fun, man,” Travis says, noting Taylor’s special connection to the venue.
“Taylor’s on record saying that that stadium is one of the funnest that she’s played at, so for them to show her is, I guess, showing her some love,” he explains. “So shout out to the Patriots for doing that.”
Taylor most recently played Gillette Stadium in May during a three-night stint on her Eras tour. That was before her pivotal stop in Kansas City, which led to her current relationship with the NFL star.
Next up for Travis and Jason are a pair of Christmas Day games on Monday, Dec. 25 on their respective home turfs. Fans are eager to see if Taylor will be sharing the holiday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, with Chiefs Kingdom.
No word yet on whether she will be in attendance, but a source recently told ET that she was “planning to spend a lot more time at Travis’ house in Kansas City while she is on a break from touring.” The Eras tour is currently on hiatus, resuming in February.
“Things between Travis and Taylor are going really well. Their relationship is progressing in a great way,” the source told ET. “They’re both very excited to be together, and Travis is making sure that Taylor feels comfortable and at home. They have mutual respect and admiration for one another, and their feelings for each other are sincere.”
