On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Prada Group is pleased to give an update on its support to UNESCO ensuring that every young woman continues learning everywhere.
Through the “Keeping Girls in the Picture” campaign, funded by the proceeds from the FW 2021 Prada auction, the Group helps UNESCO facilitate young women’s return to school after a difficult period exacerbated by the pandemic, expanding their access to offline as well as online education opportunities, including digital skills training and learning resources.
This work is taking place in Ghana and Kenya in areas where gender disparities in education are the greatest, within hard-to-reach communities and low-tech environments. It is expected to reach over 30 rural communities and 3,000 women including adolescent mothers in Ghana, and 5 secondary schools one of which is located in a refugee settlement in Kenya. Activities also aim to increase local community awareness and action for girls’ education and empowerment.
