It’s a boy!
Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper celebrated his growing family during his game against San Francisco Giants on Monday, April 14.
While walking up to home plate in the first inning, Harper’s teammate Trea Turner handed him a special bat.
From our partners:
The custom bat was powder blue in color, revealing that Bryce and his wife of eight years, Kayla Harper, are expecting a son.
“Now, you can take a look at the bat that he’s using,” the announcer said as Bryce focused on the pitches coming at him. “He’s using the Victus bat, the blue bat. Well, guess what?”
The announcer explained that the “blue bat arrived at the ballpark today. It was given to him by Trea Turner because they have just revealed the gender of the Harpers’ next child.”
The couple are already the parents of 5-year-old son Krew Aron, 4-year-old daughter Brooklyn Elizabeth and 11-month-old daughter Kamryn Ray.

MLB Star Bryce Harper and Kayla Varner’s Relationship Timeline
“I have an amazing family. I have an amazing wife, two beautiful kids that keep me very humbled and grounded. And, you know, I’m very fortunate to just be dad to them,” Bryce said at the time. “When I leave the field, it’s all about them.”
He continued, “My wife takes care of the kids at home. She does a great job at that. She supports me each night, goes to every single game she can. And I’m just very, very humbled to have a wife and a family like that.”
In March, Kayla celebrated Bryce’s 15th season in the MLB by sharing videos and photos of their three kids at training camp, while offering an update on their family.
“Kam started walking + getting into everything. We learned Brooklyn loves to fish. Krew had the time of his life getting to go to work with dad,” she wrote.
