French Grand Prix Receives FIA 3* Environmental Certification

The Formula 1® Grand Prix de France has become the first Grand Prix organiser to receive the highest level of environmental certification from the FIA. By granting this accreditation, the FIA recognises the environmental performance of the Formula 1 Grand Prix de France and its commitment to an ambitious sustainable development approach.

The French Grand Prix’s commitment is based on continuous improvement aimed at reducing the consumption of raw materials, favouring the use of biofuel-based energy sources, the use of sustainable materials and the elimination of single-use plastics. The French Grand Prix has also developed an innovative mobility plan that significantly reduces the carbon footprint of spectator travel. Finally, the members of the French Grand Prix organisation have shown a strong commitment to social responsibility.

The environmental certification of the French Grand Prix is fully in line with the Formula 1® environmental sustainability plan, which should enable the championship to reduce its carbon footprint, hosting sustainable events by 2025 and becoming Net-Zero Carbon by 2030.

Jean TodtFIA President, said:

“The FIA Environmental Certification Framework is an important standard by which sustainability is measured across motor sport and its stakeholders.
