Formula 1 Announces Broadcast Partnership Extension With Canal+ Group Until 2024

Formula 1® is delighted to announce an extension to the successful broadcast partnership with the Canal+ Group, with every session from every Grand Prix available to view on its channels in France until 2024.

Canal+ first broadcast Formula 1 in 2013 and the extended agreement will see them continue to show every Grand Prix, plus all Free Practice and Qualifying sessions, live. Canal+ will also broadcast dedicated after-race debrief and analysis programming and weekly magazine shows after a Grand Prix weekend, with exclusive content from their editorial team.

Sessions from four Grand Prix weekends every season will be broadcast live and free-to-view as part of the deal, including Qualifying and the Race at each French Grand Prix. Additional event highlights will also be broadcast on a free-to-view basis throughout the term.

The rights agreement will also see Canal+ continue to show live coverage of every FIA Formula 2 Championship and FIA Formula 3 Championship session.

Following first F1 victories for French racers Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, the sport’s popularity in the France has continued to grow. A channel-record 1.89m viewers tuned in to watch the 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix, with audience figures continuing to increase year-on-year.

With myCANAL, fans will be able to get even closer to the racing action by viewing onboard camera feeds, as well as oversee everything that’s happening using the car tracking feature. Fans will also have access to the Group’s renowned motorsport coverage via CANAL+ FORMULA ONE, a dedicated F1 channel.
