The Dodo, the no. 1 animal brand globally on social [source: Tubular, January 2021], today launched “Paw of Approval” — a brand-new seal of approval awarded by real dogs and cats, designed to recognize the most innovative, effective and trusted products in the pet space. A dedicated team of pet experts including veterinarians and The Dodo’s editorial staff will combine their expertise with a first-of-its-kind judging panel made up of real dogs and cats who will lick, paw and gnaw every product until they give their Paw of Approval.
“The Dodo reaches 100M pet owners in the U.S. every month with storytelling that spotlights the human and animal connection as well as wide-ranging resources for pet owners,” said Ameena Schelling, Editorial Director at The Dodo. “Our team of pet parents is made up of animal lovers who are experts in the pet space and are constantly discussing which products are best to help their own dog and cat family members live their best lives. ‘Paw of Approval’ will quickly become the go-to shopping destination and resource for pet products curated by the animal brand audiences love and trust.”
The Dodo’s “Paw of Approval” takes the guesswork out of choosing the most effective, safe and trusted items for pets. Today, the judges have chosen 50 products across five categories — Toys, Food, Health, Gear, and Parent Perks — to be awarded with the Paw of Approval. Every quarter, The Dodo will recognize an additional 50 pet items for a total of 150 products with the Paw of Approval by the end of 2021. Each Paw of Approval recipient will receive a dedicated article write-up on thedodo.com where consumers can take advantage of exclusive deals available only at The Dodo.
To submit a product to be considered for Paw of Approval, share a pic of your pet and their favorite product pick on Instagram with hashtag #dodopaw — or email the photo to dodopaw@thedodo.com with a few lines about your pet and why it’s their favorite product. If your pet’s product recommendation is selected, they may be featured in The Dodo’s email newsletter.
